The Application of Silicone Rubber Insulators in Ultra-High-Voltage Projects
Silicone rubber insulators boast superior resistance to pollution flashovers, electrical erosion, and aging, making them a widespread replacement for traditional porcelain insulators in ultra-high-voltage transmission systems. Their hydrophobic surface effectively prevents wet flashovers, making them particularly well-suited for heavily polluted areas. In December 2024, the ultra-high-voltage AC project in Xiongan New Area, Hebei Province, successfully adopted domestically produced high-performance silicone rubber composite insulators, which have demonstrated stable operational performance while significantly reducing maintenance frequency and costs.
